- New applications for project-based programs such as wage subsidies, Job Creation Partnerships, and Canada/NL Job Grant Employer Training program are now being accepted. Please note that services are not at full capacity and delays should be expected.
- Applications are now being accepted for the Students Supporting Communities Program. More details can be found hereĀ https://www.gov.nl.ca/aesl/students-supporting-communities/
- The Department is beginning to accept new Skills Development applications virtually. Any students seeking funding must contact the Department, prior to entering their training program, by sending a completed Request for ServiceĀ form via email to: employmentprograms@gov.nl.ca.
- The Department will continue to fund existing Skills Development and Adult Basic Education clients for courses that are being offered online
- The Department will continue to process payments to employers under existing wage subsidy and training agreements.
- AESL offices will not be open to the general public; Click the blue icon in the bottom right for assistance, or contact by email and telephone.
- AESL will continue to fund its existing community partners through extensions of existing agreements.
- Clients with inquiries can speak to a live person by clicking the blue icon in the bottom right, email at aesl@gov.nl.ca , or by calling toll-free 1-800-563-6600, 1-877-729-7888 (Eastern Region) or 1-866-417-4753 (Western Region). The client should include their telephone number, the reason for their call, and where they live in the email or voicemail message.
- Clients who receive benefits by cheque through the mail will likely experience delays in receiving payments, and should contact us as soon as possible to arrange for direct deposit.
